Five Points to Environmental Responsibility, Part 2

(This post is a continuation of our two-part look at Renewal by Andersen of Portland’s commitment to environmental responsibility. If you need to catch up on the first part, here’s the link: /2-part-blog/five-points-to-environmental-responsibility-part-1/)

In the last part, we talked about how our commitment to the environmental responsibility is reflected in our products. We also gave a broad and general idea about how it all comes together. In this part, we pick up where we left off and discuss the specific technologies in all of our products here at Renewal by Andersen of Portland — and how they specifically benefit you.

3. It’s in the materials

There are two great materials that we’re proud goes front and center when it comes to our window replacement in Vancouver, WA:

● Fibrex® frames: Imagine a material that combines the classic and altogether classy look of wood with the durability and ease of maintenance of vinyl, and that’s what Fibrex is. We use it for all our sashes and frames — doors and windows — and are proud to say that it never needs painting or repainting, will not crack, corrode, pit, or rot. The amount of recycled content in our Fibrex frames has achieved the highest SCS certification allowed.

● High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass: Another product of our drive to use only recycled materials. It is — at a minimum — 12% reclaimed glass by weight. On top of that, it has a coating that helps reduce water spots and blocks UV light — all when activated by sunlight. If that isn’t enough to bowl you over, they’ve been shown to also cut down noise pollution.

4. It’s in smart energy use

Both materials — apart from being made from recyclable components — are also energy efficient. They prevent heat transfer from occurring. That means that your climate control systems at home aren’t too taxed when you need heating and cooling in the winter and summer. Not only does this lower your bills, it also reduces the carbon footprint of your home. For our SmartSun™ option — our most energy-efficient so far — with up to 45% efficiency in the winter, and up to 70% in the summer!

5. It’s about longevity

On top of all that, our windows and doors also last a very, very long time. With less of a need to throw out old windows, we also reduce construction waste significantly. Plus, the degradation we mentioned in part 1 that caused a host of health problems? Not a problem here.

So, for your Portland, Oregon window replacement work, give us a call at Renewal by Andersen of Portland. We have years of experience under our belt, and the products to match. We can help transform your home into a bastion of eco-friendliness and savings. Contact us today!
