Wipe With a Soft Cloth
Whatever part of the door you’re cleaning, always use a soft cloth. Even when dealing with hard-to-remove filth, utilizing abrasive products will cause more harm than good.
When cleaning the glass of your replacement windows, use a mixture of water and either ammonia or a mild detergent. Wipe the surface in a circular motion from one side to another until you cover the entire area.
Detach the removable grilles before cleaning them. Applying the same solution to a soft cloth, remove the dirt while they’re placed on a clean, flat surface to inhibit breakage.
Don’t Forget to Dry
It’s imperative to dry the cleaned areas to keep them from getting dirty easily. Using a dry soft cloth, wipe the areas until any visible trace of the solution is gone.
Avoid Using a Mild Detergent on Bronze Hardware
If you choose bronze hardware for your door installation project, apply light mechanical oil to polish the piece. It can deepen the color of the finish and improve its sheen. Get rid of the excess oil afterward with a dry, soft cloth.
Use a mild detergent on other non-bronze hardware options only. For chrome finishes, you may use a commercial polish. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
