Energy Star® and Renewal by Andersen

With the Earth’s resources at a premium, many homeowners are now turning to more energy saving methods and products. Concern for the environment led the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to establish the Energy Star® program, which arms homeowners and contractors with a sense of awareness of the importance of energy efficiency.

What is Energy Star?

This voluntary program aims to help individuals and businesses save money through excellent energy efficiency. It determines and promotes energy saving products, including replacement windows in West Linn (and the surrounding areas), to reduce energy consumption and protect the environment. Energy Star does this by setting requirements on energy performance.

For window products, the program measures the U-factor − which determines how windows conduct non-solar heat flow − and solar heat gain coefficient − which confirms how your windows block the sun’s heat. Other factors include visible transmittance − which measures how much light comes through the unit − and air leakage − which determines how much outside air comes into your home through your windows.

Renewal by Andersen® of Portland takes pride in the fact that all of our window options pass Energy Star’s strict guidelines.

Renewal by Andersen® Means Energy Efficiency

We use only the most energy efficient materials for your windows, so when you see that familiar blue-and-white Energy Star label on our replacement windows in Tigard, you know that these will provide energy saving solutions to your home.

Our exclusive Fibrex® frames are composite material made of 40% reclaimed wood fiber and offers the strength and insulating value of wood with the low maintenance features of vinyl. This makes an extremely durable and sustainable material as it doesn’t crack or corrode, thus preventing the escape of costly heating and cooling energy.

Renewal by Andersen® of Portland also offers advanced glass packages. Choose our High Performance™ Low-E4® SmartSun™ glass, which filters harmful UV and IR light that can damage your walls, furniture, and flooring. This also lessens heat radiation, allowing a comfortable indoor environment all year long.

Energy Star matters, which is why our replacement windows embody this fact. Call us today at to learn more about our energy efficient products.
