FAQs About Fibrex® Windows

Here at Renewal by Andersen® of Portland, we pride ourselves in providing quality window replacement services, coupled with the best window products on the market. Our windows are made out of our patented and proprietary Fibrex® material which is renowned for its durability, strength, and ease of maintenance. In this blog, we’ll share the answers to the most frequently asked questions about Fibrex windows.

What Is Fibrex?

Fibrex is a composite material made out of thermoplastic polymer and reclaimed wood fiber. When used, you can experience the durability of wood windows along with the low-maintenance requirements of vinyl. You don’t have to worry about experiencing window blistering, peeling, fading, or flaking.

Why Should I Use It?

Keep in mind that quality replacement windows can improve your home’s energy efficiency. Fortunately, our Fibrex windows coupled with High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass will improve your home’s insulation and energy efficiency, making your home much more comfortable. Also, Fibrex is inherently durable and requires less maintenance compared to other window materials available on the market.

This helps you save on maintenance costs in the long run. It’s also worth noting that Fibrex windows have narrower frames that don’t compromise on durability. In turn, you get a greater glass area that gives you better lighting and a great view of the outside, without sacrificing durability.

Is It Available For All Window Styles?

Fibrex windows can be created in any window style of your choosing. This gives you a great degree of flexibility over what kind of windows you can install in your home. You can choose double-hung, casement, or even big bow and bay windows that will help improve your home’s aesthetics. Our windows can be crafted into any shape that gives you countless options. It’s also available in a variety of colors, allowing you to complement any home style.
