Andersen Corporation: The Greenest Window and Door Brand

Before Andersen Corporation was honored with the 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner® of the Year Award in March, our parent company also earned a distinct honor. They were named the Greenest Window and Door Brand by Green Builder Magazine. They have won this accolade for the fifth year in a row, cementing their already solid reputation as one of the most sustainable building companies in North America.

Consistent with our unmatched energy-efficient door and window replacement in Salem, Oregon, as well as other parts of the U.S., here are some of the notable achievements that earned our parent company this distinct recognition again:

Doing Good Deeds through Donation

As a testament to our penchant for giving, our company donated windows to several green projects. One, we helped build the first LEED Platinum building at the Yellowstone National Park. Our partnership with the National Park Service gave rise to this employee residence situated near Old Faithful.

On top of donating windows, we also funded an 18-home Habitat for Humanity community in River Falls, Wisconsin. This is the largest net-zero affordable housing development in the entire country, effectively lowering the home ownership of families living there.

Taking Sustainability to New Heights

Apart from making homes sustainable with high-performance replacement windows in Lake Oswego, our company has expressed our commitment to accelerate the adoption of green business practices. This is made possible by signing the Ceres Climate Declaration, making us one of the first major building manufacturers to do it.

In light of this, we unveiled key operational goals to reduce our solid waste, as well as water and energy consumption, by 20% per unit of production by the year 2020.

Everything Comes in Full Circle

Finally, our development of Fibrex® is undoubtedly one of the pillars of our success. Our advocacy in making the world greener is in our continuous manufacturing of reclaimed replacement windows in Portland, Oregon. As we recycle our raw materials, we lessen the impact of our production to the environment. There is a strong chance our custom-built fixtures will not end up in landfills compared with other products.
