What’s In the Glass?

Each high-performance glazing we install features a specially-designed coating system that makes use of state-of-the-art coating technology. The glass has a light, spectrally-selective multilayer and low-emissivity coating that boasts more layers than standard Low-E coated glass. This allows desirable sunlight in while keeping harmful UV rays out.

This special coating makes the glass up to 56% more energy-efficient in summer and up to 47% more energy-efficient in winter compared to ordinary dual pane glass.

High-Performance™ Low-E4® SmartSun™ Glass

This is the most energy-efficient glass option we offer for window replacement, and it’s best suited to homes that receive a lot of sunlight throughout the year. This glass blocks up to 95% of harsh UV rays that can potentially damage furniture, carpets and flooring.

On top of that, this glass also has thermal control similar to that of tinted glass, but provides the same light transmittance as clear glass thanks to its spectrally-selective multilayer coating. We also offer a variant with Heatlock® Technology™ that reflects escaping room-side radiant heat back into the room, naturally keeping your indoors warmer.
