How Does Fibrex® Stack Up Against Other Frame Materials?

In keeping with the promise to provide only the highest quality products, Renewal by Andersen® developed a frame that is twice as strong as vinyl, and performs better even in harsh temperatures. We call it Fibrex®. This material is so resilient, it never requires painting and will not crack, pit, corrode, or rot.

So just how does it stack against other frame materials, such as wood and vinyl? Renewal by Andersen® of Portland, the top dealer in replacement windows in Tigard, examines their differences:

Durability
Fibrex is a fusion of reclaimed wood fiber and PVC polymer. This blend creates a frame that is stronger, and provides a more rigid and stable support, even in inclement weather. Frames with high expansion/contraction rates in extreme temperatures can bow and break the glass seals of the window. In fact, due to the strength of Fibrex, we can make our sash and frames narrower. Narrower frames mean more glass and a larger view.

Beauty
Fibrex windows preserve the architectural beauty of your home. The frames and sashes are custom built to reflect the shape and lines of your original windows. Since it is available in so many colors, you are bound to find one that suits the façade of your home. Other frames, such as vinyl and aluminum are somewhat restricted in their use. For instance, you can’t really use them to replace the windows of a historic home.

Maintenance
Unlike wood, Fibrex is impervious to rot, decay and insects. It also never needs scraping or painting, and won’t warp, rot, or flake off. As such, it hardly requires any maintenance, except a wipedown once in awhile.

Eco Friendly
40% of the raw material by weight used to make Fibrex is clean, reclaimed wood fiber. Keep in mind that reclaimed is different from recycled. It doesn’t use post-consumer materials, but leftover materials that were set for destruction or discard, thereby eliminating waste. Our windows are also Green Seal certified.

Combine these features with our High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass packages, and you’ve got energy-saving replacement windows in West Linn. In addition, you will enjoy expert installations backed by strong warranties. Our Angie’s List Super Service Award is a glowing testament to the quality we deliver.
