Renewal by Andersen® Energy-Efficient Glass Options

Energy-efficient windows can help you save on heating and cooling costs. They can also help in making your home more comfortable no matter the season. When investing in window replacement, an important factor you should consider is the type of glass. You should make sure that the glass of your new windows is specifically designed for your local climate if you want to enjoy maximum energy savings.

Here’s a brief rundown of Renewal by Andersen® High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass options.

High-Performance Low-E4® SmartSun™ Glass

This is the most energy-efficient glass Renewal by Andersen has ever offered. It’s 70 percent more energy-efficient in summer and 49 percent more energy-efficient in winter compared to standard dual-pane glass. It can block 95 percent of harmful ultraviolet rays without obstructing views. UV rays can cause your furnishings, artwork and flooring to fade. What makes this glass option unique is that it features thermal control similar to tinted glass but with almost the visible light transmittance of clear glass. Also, Low-E4 SmartSun glass can help reduce noise pollution by blocking outdoor noise.

High-Performance Low-E4 Sun Glass

Replacement windows with High-Performance Sun Glass are ideal for hot, dry climates with little to no shade. This glass option helps cut down energy costs by blocking solar heat. It has a subtle tint coating for visible light reduction. High-Performance Sun Glass has our highest rating against solar heat gain.

High-Performance Low-E4 SmartSun Glass With Heatlock® Technology

HeatLock Technology is our newest window technology. Combined with Low E4 Sun glass, this technology offers a performance similar to triple-pane windows. This glass option reflects the room-side radiant heat back into the room.
